Mesocyclone Time-Height Trend
Gate to Gate Delta-V

Time-Height Trends can be useful in searching for trends in long-lived mesocyclones. A mesocyclone was initially detected at (02:01) in Storm G, and was tracked continuously for the next hour. At (03:01), the storm produced its first strong tornado, eventually rated at F3. The time-height trend clearly shows a lowering to the ground and strengthening of the mesocyclone after (02:55). ALthough the forecaster would not want to issue a tornado warning based on this information alone, it would certainly reinforce confidence in a warning, especially with the limits to spotter capabilities after dark.
