Introduction for Dr Harold Brooks
- Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Harold received a Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science in 1990 from the University of Illinois
- He Joined NSSL in 1991 as a Research Meteorologist
- His primary Research Interests are determining the distribution of severe thunderstorm hazards around the world & Evaluating Weather Forecasts.
- Harold’s goal is to provide people with knowledge so they can make better decisions regarding hazardous weather.
- Currently Harold is the Head of the Mesocale Applications Group at NSSL
- He has received numerous Awards and Honors, including
- Department of Commerce Silver Medal
- And three OAR Outstanding Paper Awards
- Harold has been an International invited speaker on Severe Thunderstorm Hazards
- He has appeared in countless Television shows, radio broadcasts, magazine and newspaper articles
