Introduction for Dr Chuck Doswell

- He received his meteorology degrees from the University of Wisconsin and OU
- He his career in 1976 as a Forecaster & Researcher at the NSS Forecast Center in KC
- In 1982, he moved to Weather Research Program at ERL in Boulder, CO
- Chuck Joined NSSL in 1986 and worked as an NSSL Scientist within the Doppler Radar and Remote Sensing Research group until he retired in 2001
- Currently he is working as a Senior Research Scientist at CIMMS at OU and is an Adjunct Full Professor with the OU School of Meteorology
- Has made significant contributions in the development of Storm Spotter Training materials
- Dr Doswell has authored more than 200 scientific papers
- He has served in various capacities within the AMS, including as an Associate Editor & on Advisory Committees
- He has Served as an Editor for IEEE
- Chuck is well known from numerous TV specials on Severe Weather & Tornadoes
- Dr Doswell was Just named the recipient of the European Geophysical Society’s Soloviev Medal given for exceptional contributions toward improving understanding of, and promoting ways to mitigate, the effects of Natural Hazards
