First Dual Doppler Observations in the U.S. (1967)

• NSSL’s 3 cm pulsed-Doppler radar
• Cornell Aeronautical Laboratory’s 3 cm Doppler radar (Rodger Brown)

Notes:
NSSL’s pulsed Doppler radar was ready for use in October 1965, collected in clear air at that time and also in a winter snowstorm in January 1966. I suspect that during 1966, Lhermitte did not use this radar for any field campaigns until 1967. I also recall the first dual Doppler observations might have been made in England in the same year.
