In 1997, the SPC began full-time operations in the NSSL/CIMMS facility; close proximity and complementary interests have catalyzed organized interactions:

• Daily map discussions
• Individual research projects
• Annual "Spring Programs"

Daily map discussions between SPC forecasters, NSSL and CIMMS scientists, students, and others, have led to many research problems and to improved forecasts
