This daytime flight was called to measure horizontal variations of the moisture flied across the SMO and a second component was added to measure the sea-land breeze circulation over the coastal plain and foothills of southern Sonora. The flight found very weak flow over the Gulf of California, but interesting moisture gradients. A "non-typical" monsoon day, but in that sense interesting. Very warm water over the central Gulf, about 31C. |
