MONTHLY AVERAGES

Disclaimer: These wind data are intended primarily for qualitative analysis. Although the raw data have been processed through certain routines designed to detect and correct obvious errors, the step is dependent upon the experience of the person processing the data. Obvious errors exist in some soundings, and small errors exist in many soundings. While we strongly encourage everyone with an interest to use the data set for whatever purposes they desire, please be aware that it is not free of errors. We are aware of many of the errors but are not able to correct them in real-time because the raw angle data is not being transmitted, only the processed wind. A final data set will appear some time in the future. We welcome your comments on the data set; please send comments to mdouglas@nssl.noaa.gov
