Annual cycle of the probability of 2 inch or larger hail occurring anywhere in the U.S.

animation of 2-in hail or greater days between 1980 and 1994

The animation shows the annual cycle of severe weather threats from giant hail (two inch or larger) throughout the year.  Each frame shows the climatological probability of giant hail occurring within 25 miles of any point for that day.  Each loop begins on 1 January and adds a frame every 7 days.  The dates at the bottom of the images are given by the form YYMMDD/0000, where MM is the month and DD is the day of the month.  (The YY is extraneous).  The probabilities are in per cent.
