Summer Students Complete Internships
Six undergraduate students from across the country spent their summer working alongside National Severe Storms Laboratory researchers in Norman as part of the Hollings Scholarship Program and the Educational Partnership Program.
During their internships, the students were guided by mentors on projects related to hydrology, severe weather climatology, weather forecasting and radar.
The four Hollings students were Darren Clabo, University of Oklahoma; Owen Shieh, Cornell University; Karyn Snider, North Carolina State University; Lindsay Tardif, Plymouth State University. The two EPP students were Markeitta Benjamin, Jackson State University and Soralis Pimental, University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez.
The students made their final presentations in Washington, D.C. in front of other students from throughout NOAA. Soralis Pimental's poster received a second place award.
