Hot Items 2005 SMART-Radars featured in Norman Christmas parade
Employees of the National Severe Storms Laboratory
and Cooperative Institute for Mesoscale Meteorological Studies in Norman,
Okla., decorated NSSL's two mobile radars and participated in the local
Christmas Parade. The Shared Mobile Atmospheric Research and Teaching
Radars, known as SMART-Rs, are jointly owned by NSSL, University of Oklahoma,
Texas Tech University and Texas A&M University. Several employees
and their families walked alongside the radars handing out candy to the
thousands of residents lining the streets of the mile-long route.
