Introduction

This item is related to "Simple math" in that it uses another form of the same Severe Thunderstorm Climatology dataset. This time we're going to use the Annual Cycle graphs and caculate area under the curve.

Annual Cycle for Severe Weather

The Severe Thunderstorm Climatology web site allows a visitor see the annual cycle any type of severe weather by selecting the type of severe weather (tornado, wind, hail, significant tornado, or violent tornado) and clicking on a point in the continental US. Although the nature of many of the curves are quite different from each other, the toal threat added through the year may be comparable.
