Dave Jorgensen recently accepted the 2013 NOAA Technology Transfer Award on behalf of the NSSL/CIMMS Warning Decision Support System – Integrated Information (WDSS-II) On Demand team. Seven destructive tornadoes struck Oklahoma on May 24, 2011. The tornadoes were well forecast by the National Weather Service (NWS), and NSSL was in position to capture the storms in several ways.
A team from NSSL completed the installation of NSSL’s real-time Multiple-Radar/Multiple-Sensor (MRMS) system at the FAA William J Hughes Technical Center in Atlantic City, N.J. last week.
